If you talk to a hearing-impaired or deaf person it is not always necessary to talk louder, but just somewhat slower. That way this person has more time “to translate” your statement. Besides it is also easier to read the lips of a slow speaking person. Always take care your mouth is well visible for the listener (also pay attention to backlight). If you are hearing-impaired do tell the listener in time that you missed some words.
